Three-vehicle collision kills one, injures four

Live Oak, Florida resident Ronald Arthur Smith lost his life during a three-vehicle collision. Four other people sustained injuries during the accident, which occurred near the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and 89th Road. The accident took place around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, in Suwannee County

According to preliminary reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, Smith was operating a Honda Fit when a Chevrolet pickup truck hit his vehicle from behind as Smith was making a turn. The impact caused the Honda Fit to veer into the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 90, where it was hit by another vehicle traveling east.

Smith was declared dead at the scene of the accident. Thomas David Wainwright, 26, the driver of the truck, went to the hospital with minor injuries. 28-year-old Kayla Lynn Baldwin of Fort White, who drove the second vehicle, went to the hospital with serious injuries, along with two children.
