A three-vehicular collision in Tuckerman, Arkansas at around 1:36 p.m. on Thursday, July 15 caused one man to lose his life and three others to sustain injuries. According to preliminary investigations made by the Arkansas State Police, 59-year-old Newport resident Gary Hopkins was traveling south on Arkansas 367 in a Kia when a Mazda on an intersecting county road pulled into the path of a Dodge pickup that was heading north on Arkansas 367.

Investigators said the Dodge flipped over while trying to avoid getting into a collision with the Mazda and instead veered right into the path of the Kia.

Hopkins succumbed to his fatal injuries at the scene of the accident while the Mazda occupants, 20-year-old Juanise Cooper and 19-year-old Rodney Cooper, Jr., both of St. Louis, Missouri, and the pickup driver, 47-year-old Cabot resident Roger Price, sustained injuries of an unknown nature.

Local authorities said road conditions could not have contributed to the occurrence of the accident, for the sky was clear and the roads were neither slippery nor wet when the accident took place.

The attorneys of McCutchen Napurano - The Law Firm send their deepest condolences to Hopkins’ family and friends and hope for a speedy recovery for the other victims. We know that tragedies like this are, unfortunately, commonplace and we’re able to handle cases surrounding fatal car accidents with compassion.
