The Arkansas State Police reported a single vehicle accident that occurred on July 18 at around 8 p.m., according to Hope Star. The accident took place at the intersection of U.S. Route 278 and Arkansas Highway 355, located approximately five miles northwest of Nashville in Howard County, and led to the deaths of three individuals.

The victims were identified as 23-year-old Jose Puente, who had been driving the 1997 Ford Mustang at the time of the fatal accident, and 20-year-old Jesus Puente, both of whom were residents of Ozan in Hempstead County, as well as 26-year-old former Spring Hill resident Blake Harding.

According to preliminary investigations compiled in the report by ASP Trooper First Class Mason Glasgow, Puente was unable to negotiate a curve as the vehicle they were riding in headed west on US 278, causing it to veer off the roadway and hit an embankment.
