At least six individuals are reported dead, and several others injured, as a result of a charter bus accident that took place in the early morning hours of Friday, November 6. According to reports from authorities, a Vasquez Citrus Hauling charter bus was traveling westbound on 1-40 when it left the roadway and collided with the abutment of an overpass.

Troopers were notified of the collision near 1 a.m., and traffic on I-40 westbound was diverted for nearly two hours. The names of those killed and injured in the crash have not yet been released, and at this time, authorities are unsure of what caused the bus to leave the roadway in the first place. At the time of the accident, there were 22 passengers on the bus, as well as the bus driver and two other employees of Vasquez Citrus Hauling.

Responders from the Arkansas Red Cross reported that the passengers who were on the bus were migrant workers who were traveling from Monroe, Michigan to Laredo, Texas.
