Greenwood vehicular accident leaves one comatose
A two-vehicule accident in Greenwood, Arkansas on Saturday, February 13 resulted in the airlift of 18-year-old Fort Smith resident and South Side High School senior Sebastian Josif Langland to the University of Arkansas Medical School.
Lieutenant Brad Hobbs of the Greenwood Police Department reported Langland had been a passenger in a car that was struck by another vehicle, noting, “the side of the car with Sebastian bore the brunt of the force [of the collision]”.
Langland was found to be in a coma after he was transported to the hospital and presently remains in the same condition.
Tammy Tanksley, a Langland family friend, stated Langland also suffered a broken pelvis and along with other injuries. He was supposed to be operated on last Tuesday, February 16, but the doctors decided to wait until Langland was stable enough for a MRI scan, which would reveal the extent of his brain damage.
